The Women's Rugby Club at UT was formed at The University of Tennessee in 1980 and today is a fast-growing, competitive club whose purpose is to provide fellowship, recreation and overall enjoyment to its members.
Our club plays both Fall and Spring seasons. We host approximately seven home matches per year, travel to approximately seven away matches per year and, in addition, attend about three tournaments per year. Our regular opponents include MTSU, WKU, Clemson University, Vanderbilt University, Furman University, Lee University, Arkansas State University and The College of Charleston. However, recently we have traveled to compete against powerhouse Eastern Illinois University's varsity squad, as well as the nationally-ranked University of Virginia women's rugby team.
The Women's Rugby Club at UT practices on Mondays and Wednesdays at Fulton Bottoms and plays all matches on Saturday afternoons.
Absolutely no experience is necessary to join the club - we teach rookies how to play!
